      <image:title>About - ABOUT</image:title>
<image:caption>Originally from regional South Australia, Hamish picked up the guitar at age eight and hasn’t put it down since. Inspired early on by bands like John Butler Trio, The Living End, and Pendulum, he spent his school years playing as much as possible and jumping at every chance to perform. In his early twenties, Hamish fell down the rabbit hole of African American music traditions, which led him to study Jazz and Improvisation at the University of Melbourne. There, he trained with some of Australia’s leading jazz musicians, including Stephen Magnusson, Fran Swinn, Christopher Hale, Andrea Keller, Gian Slater, and Jordan Murray, while developing his voice as a guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Since graduating in 2024, Hamish has been performing regularly around Melbourne as both a solo artist and collaborator. He’s worked with a range of artists including Mols, Anthony Probyn, Sonali Wijetunga, Brad Bellard, and Brandon Appleby (Bhive Sound Space), and continues to build a dynamic and versatile presence in the local music scene.</image:caption>
